Communications at Summit Station site include a fully functional Internet connection and phone service. These services are provided by a 64 kbps VSAT satellite link. The services are distributed throughout the camp with an IEEE-802.11b wireless local-area network. A researcher can now deploy an instrument anywhere within the camp area and access it remotely.
